DBS stands for **Disclosure and Barring Service**. If you are employed in a position that involves interacting with children or vulnerable adults, it is essential to undergo a standard or enhanced DBS check.  This instructional video shows how to access your DBS settings and select the DBS role.   ### **Using an approved DBS role** Once your DBS role has been approved, you can use the approved role criteria when creating a criminal check. When the approved role criteria has been added to the criminal check, the **Job Title** free-text field will no longer be available. Instead, you will see a **drop-down menu** containing the DBS roles that have been pre-approved for your account. Select the appropriate role from the drop-down menu. You must select a role that matches the duties and responsibilities of the position for which the DBS check is being requested.
