We guide you through to requesting your first background check with Veremark in just three simple steps.
Create your criteria
Step 1 is creating your criteria. A criteria is a customizable package of checks tailored to meet your specific needs.
Within the Criteria tab, you’ll find a selection of pre-made criteria featuring the most popular checks in your region. These are designed to get you up and running in no time and include role-specific packages as well as essential checks like Right to Work and Criminal Record.
You can choose to start with one of these ready-made packages or create your own using our Criteria Builder. In the video above, we guide you through the process of creating your own custom criteria.
Start by giving your criteria a name and selecting the primary location where you plan to hire. Once that’s done, you’ll see a list of all the checks available in that country, with the cost of each check displayed in Veremark credits.
Veremark credits make it easy to get started immediately—no need for a long-term contract. Plus, you can enjoy discounts on bulk credit purchases.
To build your criteria, simply toggle on the checks you’d like to include and customize them to your specific needs.
In this example, I’m going to add a reference check for two referees and a digital identity check to my criteria. Once I’m satisfied with my selection, I can choose to use this criteria right away or save it for later. For now, I’m going to select ‘Use Now.’
Purchase Credits
The simplest way to pay for checks on Veremark is by purchasing credits. You can buy credits in pre-set bundles or choose a custom amount that suits your needs.
Bundles of 200 credits or more come with a 10% discount.
Payments are securely processed through our trusted partner, Stripe, ensuring your details are safe.
For added convenience, the system automatically calculates and pre-fills the exact number of credits you need for your first check into the custom field. In this case, I’ll proceed with that amount for my payment
Candidate Details
We’ve created our criteria, purchased the required credits, and now the final step is to enter the details of the individual to be screened.
This step is quick and straightforward, and once completed, your background check will be ready to go.”
To complete this step, all we need are the individual’s name, email address, and job role. You’ll also need to select the candidate type, which ensures that the email they receive is appropriately tailored. For example, if the candidate type is a new hire, the email will reference their employment application.
