What is the difference between reference checks and employment checks?

A reference check is typically a list of 10-15 questions of your creation that will be responded to by a contact that the candidate has provided who could be a former colleague, a peer, a boss, or a school teacher, etc. An employment check is where Veremark will reach explicitly out to the HR team or direct line manager to confirm several key data points alone such as their title, exact dates of employment, eligibility for rehire, and the number of direct reports if any.
